Awards & Accreditations

1. A selection of awards won by IAG companies over the years.

Since the very beginning of our brands' histories, they have all been leaders in their respective fields. Indeed, Wharfedale, the oldest of our brands, was founded because of Gilbert Briggs' success in a loudspeaker competition.

Each of the brands within IAG's portfolio has its own particular field of excellence, and they have won more awards than can be listed on these pages, so the list overleaf covers only the most recent.

Some of our historic awards are, however, worth a mention. Quad, for example, is one of only two audio companies in the world ever to have been awarded the 'Queen's Award for Technological Achievement' - for the famous 'current-dumping' circuit employed in the Quad 405 - and now the Quad 909. Numerous Diapason D'Or awards for the Quad electrostatic loudspeakers as well as Grand Prix awards from the world's most extreme high-end magazine, Japan's StereoSound.

Over recent years, Wharfedale, Quad and Mission have dominated the UK's leading awards from What Hi-Fi Magazine, winning across all loudspeaker categories.

In addition to our recent success in the UK, we have been particularly proud of our achievements in the USA, with the latest Quad Electrostatics not only winning 'Product of the Year', but also the overall 'Component of the Year' in Stereophile magazine - the world's biggest-selling high-end magazine.

Wharfedale's 'Airedale Heritage' reference speaker system, developed as a statement product by Steve Hewlett, has been rewarded with a 'Stereo Sound' Grand Prix win and the praise of audio critics around the world.

The Airedale Heritage is winner of the 'Stereo Sound' Grand Prix award - the highest accolade that any hi-fi product can receive.

The Quad 99 system has won the Hi-Fi News System of the Year for two years running now. The Quad L-series speakers have won What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision magazine's 'Product of the Year' twice, as well as a Best Buy award in 2004.
